This'll be in the 'Shigeru Fic timeline'. But it will be Palletshipping themed (aka Shishi/ShigSato/GaryXAsh). And I'll also use Shigeru and Statoshi's 'english' names for once... because I like hearing/reading Shigeru/Gary call Satoshi/Ash Ashy or Ashy-boy X3

Gary had finally recieved word of his partner.
It had been weeks with no word from or of her and he had started to worry, maybe more than a little bit.
So it was a real surprise when a carrier pidgey flew down to him when he was outside taking notes about the Pokémon habitats around the island.
Not only that, but it seems she was also traveling with Ash Ketchum.
And had been since pretty much the start of her trip.
He hadn't seen Ashy-boy for quite some time now. And it seems he was coming along with her for a visit.
That was a surprise and the Pokémon Reasearcher just let out a small laugh and rubbed the back of his head while a smile streched the corner of his mouth.
It would still be a few hours before they would arrive, so Gary decided to pack up his things outside and organize what information he had gathered in the lab until it was time to greet them.

He made sure he kept track of time and showed up a little bit early, just to make sure he wasn't late.
He didn't think it would matter all that much to either of them if he was there when they showed up, but it mattered to him.
It was also a few hours before sunset.
Gary smirked to himself and gaze out across the expanse of water to where the opposite shore would be.
It wasn't long before a speck on the horizen seemed to grow larger and turn out to be the boat that was delivering his friends.
Milliseconds before the boat even came to a complete stop Ash was already jumping off the boat, with Pikachu and Royalle right behind him.
They grinned like idiots to one another and giglged about some unspoken joke.
Gary was the first to actually speak, "Well, well, if it isn't Ashy-boy." he had his arms crossed and a smirk tugged at the edge of his mouth.
"Gary! It's been a while, hasn't it?" Ash turned to face Gary, a wide grin playing along his face as he folded his hands behind his head.
Pikachu waddled up to Ash's side, "Pika!" and rose it's tiny arm in the air and smiled at Gary.
"You bet it has. Still haven't given up I gather?" Gary asked.
"Of course not! I'm still going to be the greatest Pokémon master! Just you wait and see, I've gotten lots stronger since we last met!" Ash now had one leg in front of him as he crouched forward slightly, his opposite arm angled out in front of him with his hand balled into a fist as he looked to Gary with fierce eyes and a confident expression.
Meanwhile, Royalle was talking with the driver and helping him move the equipment over the side of the boat.
She smiled at hearing the banter between the two long time rivals and friends.
So she was chipper as she was packing the box away from the boat as it drove off, "Gary-sempai, I'm just going to bring this inside, okay?"
It seems the two were preparing for a Pokémon battle.
"Sure thing," her partner replied as he pulled a pokéball from his belt beneath his lab coat, still facing Ash.
"Bring it on Gary!" Ash replied enthusiastically, mimicing his rivals movements.
"Pi Pikachu!" the small yellow rodent pokémon exclaimed at his trainer.
"Huh? Pikachu, you want to battle?" Ash looked down at his pokémon.
"Pika!" it jumped up and down happily.
Ash smiled at it and knelt down, still holding a pokéball in one hand, petting Pikachu with the other, "Sorry little buddy, I'm going to do this on my own. Why don't you go with Royalle to the lab?"
"Pikachu!" she small pokémon crossed it's arms disgruntled.
"Come on Pikachu, Gary-sempai and I have some new specially designed electric pokéfood. You'll love it, and it'll charge you up after that battle with team rocket before we boarded the boat." Royalle said as she turned and smiled to Pikachu.
Gary looked at Royalle out of the corner of his eye at the mention of Team Rocket.
"See, Pikachu? I'll be fine, and I won't take too long," Ash said as he pet his Pikachu on the head.
"Pika..." the rodent pokémon's ears pulled back and it's expression was sad, but it nodded and slowly began to walk to Royalle.
"I'll see you boys later." Royalle said as she smiled at them and started up the path through the trees to the lab.

"I win again, Ashy-boy." Gary teased.
"No..." Ash said as he recalled his pokémon.
Before he knew it, his rival was standing right in front of him.
He was a little taller than Ash, so he had tilt his head up to look at him. His face was dissapointed, but his eyes showed he still held his determination.
Gary's face was serious, and he brought his left hand up to hold Ashy's chin in his palm. His other hand pulling off the boys hat.
Neither moved but contintued to stare into the others eyes.
Until Gary leaned down, closed his eyes, and pressed his mouth against Ash's.
Ash's own eyes slipped closed as his hands made their way to cling to Gary's shirt.
The brunette pulled away, breaking the kiss, and starred into the other boy's face, "It's good to see you again, Ashy-boy..." his voice was soft.
"Gary... you know how much I missed you..." Ash almost whispered, his eyes half-lidded, as he pulled himself closer to him.
Gary nodded as he slid his hand from the boy's chin to the back of his neck and pulled the boy against himself.
